CONVENTION LOOK BACK (Notes from FB Live Event)
First of all, thanks to our outgoing officers, Anna Langthorn, Brian Jones, Tim O’connor, and Rachael Hunsucker for their two years of service to the Democrats of Oklahoma and for putting on a great convention. Also, a huge thank you to the VOLUNTEERS who served on the committees that worked to put together our constitution and bylaw changes, resolutions, rules, and credentials.
Congratulations to our newly elected officers:
Alicia Andrews, Chair
Dave Ratcliff, Vice-Chair
Tim O’Connor, re-elected as Secretary
Rachael Hunsucker, re-elected as Treasurer
Affirmative Action Members:
Ashely Nicole McCray
Constitution and bylaw changes were passed as proposed.
Resolutions, which are now our party’s platform, were passed with the addition of friendly amendments, grammar and punctuation to be polished by central committee.
On Friday, there were trainings held during the day. Please share with your fellow democrats what you learned, if you were able to go.
Friday night and Saturday afternoon, Oklahoma County hosted a hospitality suite and silent auction in the hotel. Thanks to Larry and Vicki Toombs for putting that together and hosting. It was a successful auction earning the party over $2000.
Oklahoma County hosted four tables of folks for the Carl Albert Dinner on Friday night. The guest speaker was Deb Haaland, Representative from NM first district. It was exciting to be reminded that the resistance is alive and well in Washington DC. Our very own Kendra Horn introduced Representative Haaland!
